Wei-Ling Wu Deckinga
Founder & Principal Designer
I am a primarily self taught visual designer with over 10 years of experience. My career actually started before my undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley were even over; while double majoring in Art Practice and Music, I made extra income by helping various departments and organizations with their web design, such as the HAAS School of Business and the Cal Alumni Association.
After graduation, my career became full-time, accelerating through many exciting facets of design: print and web design in recruitment advertising, visual direction at tech startups, user interface design in platform and web gaming, and finally the rapid design and prototyping in mobile visual design. In 2014, I made the leap and went into business for myself as Lorelai Design Studio.
I'm a member of the Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society. I greatly enjoy providing pro bono work to organizations that work hard to tackle critical issues like the environment, health, and education.
How I work with my clients:
We chat (over Skype or over coffee) about your needs, your timeline, and your project scope. I'll go back and provide you with a proposal and estimate for the project, and we'll sign some simple paperwork to seal the deal.
2: Design Process
I will keep in constant contact while I develop for your project - first wireframes, if necessary; then high resolution Photoshop renders of your visual assets. I also prototype for more complicated UX projects.
3: Test and Iterate
Once the pieces are coming together, it's time to refine them until we're both pleased. My rates always include several rounds of iteration so you can be sure that you'll be happy with the final result.
4: Final Delivery
Once the project is successfully completed, high resolution assets and usage rights are transferred per the terms of the signed contract. I always am grateful for recommendations and referrals!
